A while back I picked up a little kitten on the side of the road here in town. The poor thing was stranded so I decided to take him home and take of him. I think the poor thing was partially deaf or blind, because its reaction time was not like any other cats, in that he had none at all.

Anyway, long story short, my dad accidentally ran him over this morning. He's dead. frown

Something like this was bound to happen sooner or later. That kitten never moved out of the way of my car or my parents' cars. It was very lame (meaning he must have been very sick or something). I may be wrong, but I think that little cat had a death wish because he must have been in such pain somehow. I just hope now it can find peace. frown

What gifts, big or small, are you hoping to find under the tree this year?

I'm really not expecting much this year. With our economy the way it is, I don't think anybody should. Just making it through another year will be a gift enough for me. Really all I want are maybe books and DVDs. I'm really not too picky about what I get this year. I do need new clothes though.

It's funny; when you're a kid, you always want toys and games and hate getting clothes. As you get older, however, you start wanting to get new clothes for Christmas and don't expect fancy things like toys or gadgets.

Growing up sucks some times.

Happy 2008 (Yeah, a little late. Sorry about that)

So I'm back in school now, and it feels weird. More later.

So last night I had this weird dream. It wasn't very consistent (none of my dreams are of course), but I dreamed I had a Mac PowerBook (which would be awesome) and I was at this Sci-Fi convention where they had half the cast of the show "Heroes" (which would be EXTREMELY awesome). So needly to say it was a very pleasant dream.

I went to see "Blood and Chocolate" yesterday with [info]sirenica. She liked it, but I wasn't too keen on it myself. Call me old-fashion, but if I'm going to see a werewolf movie, I expect there to be horror and lots of blood and gore. The whole man-to-wolf transformation where they transform in a flash of light? I don't by that! Being a werewolf is NOT supposed to look cool. It's not supposed to make you say, gee I want to be a werewolf. No one in their right mind WANTS to be a werewolf. It's a curse!

Another thing that irked me about the movie was that the men turn into actual wolves. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't werewolf stand for "part man, part wolf" and thus shouldn't the wolf be more of a human-lupin habrid? I don't buy the whole elegance of being a werewolf. Vampires can pull off elegance, but wolves are more beastly by nature. They're supposed to be gruffy and mangy. I think "Underworld" got it right in the sense of comparing the more sinfully beautiful vampires with the gritty, feral werewolves. With this movie it was like they were trying to mix both worlds, and it didn't do it for me. I expect to see a horrific transformation like from "The Howling" or "An American Werewolf in London" where we see the true nation of the werewolf come into form.

So in short, if you like melodrama with elegant, unrealistic werewolves, this is the movie for you.

End transmission.

Salutations, friends! Looks like I'm back on the good old LJ...again. This time it is all because a lovely young woman has inspired me to come back. Thank you Ms. [info]sirenica for bringing me back into the LJ Game! Love you, hun!

So, what can I say now...these past couple of months I've been in the employment of Toys 'R' Us for the seasonal help. And since business has been down I've been on the job hunt. And now I'm seriously considering going back to school and finish up my degree. I kinda wish I had not taken two years off; now I feel I'm way behind. Well, now I got some catching up to do. I'm hoping I get closer to my goal of being a published sequential artist (that's comic book artist to you uneducated folk). So wish me luck with that.

Oh, last month I got a Nintendo Wii! How cool is that? I've already beat Zelda on there (awesome!). Now I just need to look into get some more games, like WarioWare Smooth Moves or Madden NFL '07. My girlfriend likes to play the WiiSports Tennis. So it's fun for everyone! :D

Well, I guess I better go now. I will try and keep you all up to date on what's going on, if you all are interested that is. Well, thanks for sticking with me. Love you all!

After a long extended absense from the LJ scene, I have made my triumphant return.

Well, I'm now without a job, and without a wallet; so that means I have NO MONEY whatsoever. Go me! Well, I guess there are bigger injustices in the world. I'm without a job because I quit my job at the Italian Oven; I know it may have been a stupid decision to make, but I really don't care. I hated working there! Reasons being: 1)I didn't like the people I was working with; the people I worked with when I started were cool, but they're all but gone now and I was stuck with a bunch of bratty kids who are so gosh-durn lazy. I'm pretty sure most of them were doing drugs. 2) I didn't like the way the place was being ran. I think the owner had his priorities all out of whack; he was such a cheap-skate. Plus we were severely understaffed and he doesn't seem to hire people. When he does he hires people who just don't get it and struggle very badly; they're usually kids straight out of high school. 3) I wasn't making as much money as I hoped I would. Considering all the hours I worked and all the tables I got, I didn't have much to show for it. It's mainly because I received bad tips; I think I'm an all right server, but still I get poor tippers. Well, that's Peachtree City for you.

Anyway, I didn't care if I had another job lined up; I had to get away from that place. I felt I wasn't paying attention to what was more important; like working on my comic pages and trying to get back into school. That's what I need to focus on; getting back to school and get a degree so that I can get a REAL job with a REAL pay. I know some people can make a career out of waiting tables, but I'm not one of them. I absolutely hate it! I don't care what kind of job I get next, I never want to work in the food service industry again. That's all I have to say on that matter.

But of course the worst part about all of this is that I lost my wallet. So I don't have money, a driver's license, or a credit card to my name. So basically I'm going to have a new beginning of sorts. Perhaps it's for the best; these past few days have made me put a lot of things in perspective. I know now that I need more than anything else to get back into school and continue getting an education. No more jerking around on anything else; this is the most important thing in my life, or at least one of the most important things. I want to get a degree so that I can land a good job with a good pay and I can finally move out on my own and not have to be dependent on anyone ever again.

So I guess I'm going by the DMV to get a new license tomorrow; plus I need to go to the bank to make sure they've cancel my bank card and I can get another one. Then I have to deposit some money in for a car payment this month. Man, I kinda wish I had planned this all out better, but I still don't regret much. I'm not working at the Oven anymore, and that's all that really matters. I just need a small break from working right now. Once I get my priorities straighten out, everything will go back to normal. This is all going to work out somehow. I know it will.

This article really spoke to me. It reminds me of a loved-one who has the same struggle. In many ways, I read this and I see this person. It breaks my heart, yet at the same time it gives me hope. And I hope it does the same for you too, if you can identify with it:

Wow! This is totally cool! I recently sent in a drawing of Catwoman for my ArtWanted.com profile. And after just a couple of days it went into the top Ten on the site. (It ranked number 5 even! How arsum is that?)

You can check it out here. My portfolio isn't exactly very big right now, but I'm working on some more stuff for it. Hope to have some more in the coming weeks. Until then, enjoy my stuff!

Did I ever mention how much you guys rock!? :D

Goodness.....I've gone so long without posting a journal....well, good news is I'm alive and well, working a semi-full-time job, got a new car, and a spectacular girlfriend. :) I guess you can say things are starting to look up now.

Anyway, I've been so busy with work and such that I rarely get on here anymore. For that I apologize. I really do need to start updating more; otherwise I'll have to delete this journal and I know some of you would hate that (^_^). So I will try to update more if you guys promise to stick around with me a little while longer.

I guess that's about it for now. Stay tuned.

From IMDb.com:

'Karate Kid' Star Pat Morita Dies

The Karate Kid star Pat Morita has died at his Las Vegas home. He was 73. The actor and comedian, whose portrayal of Mr. Miyagi in the 1984 movie earned him an Oscar nomination, passed away on Thursday of natural causes, according to his wife of 12 years Evelyn. She says in a statement, "(My husband) dedicated his entire life to acting and comedy." For years, the actor, real name Noriyuki Morita, played small roles in such films as Thoroughly Modern Millie and TV series such as The Odd Couple and Green Acres. His first breakthrough came with classic TV show Happy Days, and he followed with his own brief series Mr. T and Tina. The Karate Kid spawned three sequels ending with 1994's The Next Karate Kid, which paired him with a young Hilary Swank. More recently, Morita provided the voice for a character in the 1998 Disney movie Mulan. Born in northern California on June 28, 1932 to migrant fruit pickers, Morita spent most of his early years in the hospital with spinal tuberculosis. He later recovered only to be sent to a Japanese-American internment camp in Arizona during World War II. After the war, Morita's family tried to repair their finances by running a Sacramento restaurant. It was there that Morita first showed an interest in a showbusiness career, eventually committing to it full time at the age of 30. He is survived by his wife and three daughters from a previous marriage.
